Sch. 40 PVC Female Adaptors are used when you need to attach to your pipe line and leave yourself with female threads. All Sch. 40 fittings that are made with male pipe threads will work with the same size female adaptor. Nipples are also commonly used with female adaptors in order to extend a line without having to add more pipes. Thread tape is recommended here to ensure proper thread and joint security. Female adaptors can handle temperatures that range up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
